I got off the train today and my car was covered in sleetsnow. It is Halloween. What the fuck is wrong with you, Chicago? And me terribly underdressed, in a warm jacket and scarf but no hat or gloves. :( I got home in the 40 mph sustained winds (65 mph gusts! What a Halloween!) and found that, unsurprisingly, we'd had no trick-or-treaters, which is sad because now living in a house in a neighborhood that I know has children in it, I was really hoping for some. Now I'm going to have to shoulder the burden of eating all this candy. I hope it appreciates my noble sacrifice.
I was supposed to go to
spreadnparanoia's place tonight for a Halloween party, but I'm so exhausted that I haven't managed to do anything other than order food (I tipped the delivery guy 40% for making him come out in this weather) and half-watch the paladin play inFAMOUS: First Light. I doubt I'm going to get out again, especially since cold and wet disaster. Which is unfortunate, because her Halloween party is always great, but I've been burning the candle at both ends all week (for months now, really) and I'm just out of fuel.
Speaking of that, let's do a goals post.
Video Games
In October:
* Beat FFX HD
* Make measurable progress on something else.
I did not beat FFX HD, but I did beat Costume Quest and I played a lot of FF14.
In November:
* Really seriously beat FFX HD
* Try to beat something else before Dragon Age: Inquisition and Persona Q eat all my free time.
Writing
In October:
* Participate in Chocobo Races
* Write three days a week
....I'm not even sure why I'm making writing goals anymore this year. (Sheer stubbornness and refusal to give up, I guess.)
In November:
* Edit the first book of the trilogy, or at least get halfway there.
* Post a damn Chocobo Races fic.
Money
In October:
* Save for Christmas
I did okay with this!
In November:
* Halve lowest credit card.
Self
In October:
* Post more on DW
* go back to paying attention to food and exercise
* Make efforts to be a better friend.
* Unpack the last few boxes.
Well, I didn't get the boxes done (due to late arrival of new furniture in which to put the contents), but I started off the month pretty well with more posting, at least until I got sick. I have not done as much exercising (other than cleaning, which is a pretty solid workout), but I did make better food choices for the most part. I think I did better on the friendship front, though.
In November
* Post more on DW
* Cook meals in more often than I eat out
* Keep the house clean and neat
