Gardening is very tiring.

My desk arrived yesterday (it is this one, in cherry) and paladin and I put it together. Today I put together my new computer chair (the cats managed to interfere before I even got the damn thing out of the box and at every single assembly stage thereafter), and now I am all set up for gaming and regular computer use. EXCITING.

Then last night it was newbie game for Dead City, my first as a mainstage game storyteller. (I've run the occasional newbie game before.) We had seven newbies, all of whom were utterly fantastic. I hope they all come back, because they are exactly 100% our kind of terrible people (by which I mean lovely people who are delightfully awful in-character.) I loved the game, but I am having severe attacks of neurosis about being on the ST team, of the "I don't belong here and I don't know why anybody wants me here" variety. Hopefully I'll get over it.

This morning I spent an hour yanking weeds in my front yard, including thistles as tall as I am and a sproutling that wanted to become a box elder when it grew up (but not that close to the house, thank you.) One of the rosebushes stabbed me even through my gloves, which is unfortunate, but sometimes that's the way. And I raked all the leaves, and paladin cut the grass, and then we introduced ourselves to the neighbors amid watching football (FUCK YEAH PANTHERS).

I also finished unpacking the downstairs living room, and I have done five loads of laundry, and I made beef stew out of a couple weeks' accumulation of root vegetables from our CSA. And now I am eating it, and it is delicious.

It's a pretty good weekend. I feel productive and now I have time left to play games or whatever.
