Granted, it is 3 a.m. and I am drunk as hell, but the following is applicable nonetheless.
Whether I met you before I started keeping an LJ, or we just became friends last week, I wish you the best that life can offer. New friends or old, you are all precious to me. You make my life better simply by being my friend, and for that I am grateful. I only hope I provide the same joy to you. Some of you have been here long enough to see me through some really dark times. Some of you are new friends. I cherish you equally.
I wish for you that 2013 is a year that provides all the joy your heart can hold, and then some. I wish for your troubles to be small, and easily soothed. If you are looking for, or already have, the romantic relationship(s) that complete your life, I hope you find joy and not pain in them; I hope that they provide the things that are good for you. I hope you make new friends. I hope you achieve your dreams. If your dreams aren't the kinds of things that can be achieved in a single year, I hope you find fulfillment in the new year. I hope you make something beautiful that you love. I hope your cup runneth over with love and friendship. I hope you get to tell the ones you love what they mean to you; I hope that you have no occasion to bid them farewell.
You are a precious human being. Yes, you. I love you because you're my friend. If you're some random person who dropped by, I love you too, because you're a human being in this world and you deserve that.
For me personally, I find friendship and wishes of good luck and joy hard to accept; when I get a compliment I'm never sure if the person who said it meant it sarcastically or not.
But seriously: I love you, my friends. Keep on being awesome. Keep on doing whatever it is you do. I want you to succeed beyond your wildest dreams. I want you to find whatever it is you want in life. I want you to have joy, and friendship, and whatever kind of love suits you best. I want you to be you, in all your magnificent oddities and intelligence and creativity and merits and flaws; I want you to be whatever makes you happy.
I love you.
