NaNoWriMo, Day 19

Victory du Jour: oh hey look climax is starting to happen.
Argh du Jour: I...still have no idea how the climax is going to actually happen oh help I've gone off-outline at the worst time ever.
So yeah. I have ended up moving what was supposed to be the main plot of this novel to book 2 (the setup is still here), and the subplot of this novel has become the main plot (it will reprise in book 3, probably). This is actually structurally a lot better, in that it gives book 2 an actual plot instead of "hi I'm character development," but it is kind of problematic in that the climax of this subplot was always kind of hand-wavey "ummmm I'll figure it out when I get there,' only now fuck I have to figure out how it works and it's the end of NaNo and I am out of creativity and it would've been really nice if I had this outlined so I could just string together scenes.

(the hilarity is I know exactly what the fallout is, but it's more like:
1. Setup.
2. ???
3. Denoument.
this is not a wise way to plan it.)
well, whatever, I got my 1800 words for the day, I have like 3 days' worth of writing left to get 6800 words out of somehow (and at least one of those days I'm travelling and will be carrying my laptop, so ALL THE WORDS since I'll be without internet on the plane, oh noooo) and then I can...go back and fill in the bits. Why are there so many bits to fill in. WHY.
...I'm going to go play Strange Journey now. Because I don't need to brain for that.
