Tuesday the 25th - Went to the DMV, this time armed with the stupid envelope they said I needed. I didn’t expect to pass the test so I just figured I’d go to learn the course, but I passed anyways and got my license!

Wednesday - Was a half day, after work I went to eyelikerancid‘s house and Thursday I spent Thanksgiving there which was fun, and meeting her husband was fun too. I wish Aaron was here, I really think he and her husband would get along well. Also, she’s a really good cook.

Friday I saw Bolt with a friend from the barracks. It was a cute movie, I felt bad for Mittens because what happened to her happens to so many poor cats.

Saturday and Sunday - Did nothing.

Monday - The receptionist was out sick so I had to run the front desk. Doing the receptionists job on top of the other 3 jobs I have to do was not fun. I was trying to serve customers, do financial paperwork, finish a tasking from SSG P, and finish up some MWD records. People kept saying “Happy Holidays”, but all I could think about is how fast this year has gone by and how little I feel like I’ve accomplished.

Tuesday - Clinic day

Wednesday - CPT P and I went to get our flu mist. I hate the flu shot, but the mist is worse because snorting it gives me a headache. I think it’s stupid that it’s required, I never once had the flu vaccine before joining the military and the flu never caused me any problems. In the afternoon we did out first POA (privately owned animal) surgery! We spayed a cat named Gizmo who is ADORABLE, I love this cat, she's a total purr-monster.

Thursday - We had warrior task training. The command in all its infinite wisdom has decided to test us on a bunch of warrior tasks we never train on, and gave us short enough notice that we don’t have time to do adequate training on the tasks. We really should train on those tasks anyways, but the fact that they want to test us on them knowing we don’t train on them or use them annoys me. It’s just one more thing to worry about. The big issue is that even if we DO fail, they’ll probably let us slide because the District doesn’t want to get in trouble, which is the wrong way to handle it. What they SHOULD do is learn from this that we need more AWT training during the year.

Friday - Clinic day. The only really exciting thing was this one lady who brought in a cat, the cat was really stressed out so it was a little difficult to deal with but she got her vaccines ok. The owner asked if we could give her a sedative for the ride home, so we gave her a tablet of Acepromazine. The owner was so grateful that when she went out into the waiting room I could hear her telling everyone how nice and helpful I was, which made me feel good. It’s nice when, once in a while, you get a client to actually appreciates you.

I'll write about this week next week
