With another to follow . Today is big "D"'s b-day. 59 years old, shit. Every year he gets older, so do I , but alas...
Cruising and finding everyone with fresh bite marks somewhere or other. Will not even pretend to understand any of it.
Watched Grammies (yeah I know feed the masses)but it was cool, Outkast got album of the year, they did a really nice tribute to Warren Zevon, but I was disappointed with how the neglected time wise some other wonderful musicians that died this year as well. Johnny Cash, Johnny Paycheck, Barry White, Billy May, Celia Cruz, shit 2003 sucked for the old timers (and some of my most favorite musicians).
Was very amused at RIAA chairman launched into lecture on the perils on downloading music online. Watched new commercial and campaign kicked off to "provide legal and ethical means of accessing music from the internet" or some bull shit similar.
Hypocrites. Give the public affordable means of music and some of us would consider other means. We live in a nation, that is alleged to be one of the wealthiest nations on this globe. Meanwhile our education standards are par with third world nations, children are in a national health crisis, unemployment is contagious, but meanwhile "Hollywood " and other locations are throwing millions of dollars at music stars, claim ming that we as fans are stealing from their pockets. I don't know, maybe when they step out of their Bentley and buy text books for urban neighborhood schools, I would think twice before firing up kazaa or aries.
