Now that you mention it, personally, I've been wondering about whether or not some of the early stuff with Elliot and Leo was quietly retconned. I mean, I know the anime people weren't entirely on base with Mochizuki about some stuff, but I recall a very young Elliot and Leo being featured in the scene where Gilbert first enters the Nightray manor. I don't THINK this exact scene was in the manga, but if it was, it's contradictory to the newly-established way Elliot and Leo meet one another. If it wasn't, then, well, there's just another way the anime differs from the manga.

Not only that, but I'm suspicious about the "I wrote it" part as well. She does try to explain it in the current chapter, but looking back, the original chapter in which this scene was featured does paint a different picture. Many people back then were theorizing that Elliot was the new Glen, and it really did seem like Mochizuki was hinting that way. All the recent revelations seemed very sudden, and so I'm beginning to wonder

I would looove some more clarification on the "I wrote it" scene. It's always baffled me, and now that it's apparently confused even Leo, it's all the more alarming...
I REMEMBER THAT SCENE. I think they might have just added it to the anime for the hell of it, or maybe because it wasn't clear at the time just how Leo and Elliot met. I remember looking through the manga to find it, but it wasn't there, so I guess it was just a little addition to introduce Elliot and Leo to the anime verse.
Oh, the days when I thought Elliot was Glen and Leo was Lacie, lol. And every sign pointed straight to Elliot for being Glen for quiiiiite some time; I remember just how "wtf" I was when it turned out to be Leo.

Explaining the "I wrote it" Scene! I talked about this on my own discussion but w/e

Leo wrote the song; he learned it somehow from Glen. Elliot thought he wrote the song, because Humpty Dumpty tampered with his memories. I would assume that this was to hide Leo's true identity as SUPERMAN! the head of the Baskervilles. Because Glen told Jack in chapter 57 that the role of the previous Glen!chain is to protect the current Glen. And if protecting him means keeping his identity a secret for a while, then so be it.
