[life] Paper

Every time I print something out in the Pitt computer labs, I get a cover sheet with my username on it that tells me which document I've printed out and how many sheets of paper I have left in my quota. For the most part, students chuck these sheets into the recycle bin because they've really no use for them.

The sheets of paper are pretty colors. Like hell I'm just going to throw away free purple, pink, blue, green, or yellow paper.

I took a stack of them and modified them a small notebook, which I'm using as a food diary. I still had a huge stack left, and I was collecting more sheets almost daily. I didn't have sort of clue as to what to do with them. I made origami with a few, but that's time consuming, and I'm not always in an origami kind of mood.

Then I discovered Pocketmod. With it, I can take a piece of paper and turn into an eight page notebook, a booklet, a weekly/daily organizer, or anything else I want it to be. It's cute, it's small, it has templates, and it's convenient. I use them now for weekly organizers and jotting down to-do lists. I'm thinking about using them with NaNo, or just any other type of writing. I can make the first page the last paragraph or two of what I have typed up, and then devote the rest of the pages to writing longhand. It's a hell of a lot more portable than my laptop or most notebooks, and when I'm done with them I can still recycle them.

It's kind of sad that I'm so excited about paper.

In other news, I've been struggling with the university to get my financial aid in since early September. They just applied it today. What the hell, man.
