Boy, I've missed the old El Jay! I've just been really busy, simultaneously trying to get my law school apps out AND planning the wedding. But we've finally decided on a date...June 8, 2007! Squee! I wish it could be even sooner, I'm so ready to be married already ( Read more... )

Ahhh! Can't ya'll leave June 9th?? I'm pleading! I am sticking my bottom lip out and making puppy dog eyes and everything.

YOUR wedding is less than four months away! Better get on that! ;) Let me know what I can do to help, and I will certainly pass on any tips I get from the planner!

Yeah I thought mine was six months away when my mom informed me that June 8 is less than FIVE months away (I never was too great at math). I almost had a nervous breakdown. There's a lot more that goes into this than I thought!

Are ya'll still planning to have your wedding at your parents' house? or in NOLA?

parent's house, i think, that will save on a lot of bull shit...
currently, they are trying to push a crawfish boil for the reception, though i'm not too sure about that. smelling like a swamp while we wed, hmm... maybe not the best idea

But it would be sooo gooood...crawfish, yum. But yeah, that's a pretty messy, smelly thing to have for the reception.

The more I think about it, wedding dress + crawfish juice= inevitable disaster...Maybe you could have some sort of pre-wedding crawfish boil instead?

((How did you make the previous post at 5:44 pm? Are you skipping ahead in time AGAIN??))

well, the whole reception will be before the main event, i think. at least that was my last plan. the idea was with the wedding being on a tuesday and people having to work or catch a plane the next day, we would have the reception first. that way, everyone gets drunk, eats, sees the thingie at sundown, cries, watches the firebreather light the bonfire, drinks more, parties in general and is in bed by eleven thirty. (with the real party starting after, of course...)

maybe the rehearsal dinner will be the boil, hmmm...

oh, and of course i'm skipping ahead in time. how else am i gonna know what i'm supposed to do now if i'm not there then?;)

Having the reception first is a good idea. It'll be a wedding like no other...perfect for you. ;)

I dunno, you could slip away before the wedding and clean all the crawfish guts off you (doesn't that sound appealing??), but i like the idea of doing it for the rehearsal better. It'll be a fun drunk-fest regardless. :)
