A few things, since my headache is pretty bad and the computer screen hurts.
I'm extremely worried for your love, Avonelle. Please know that my heart goes out to you two, and I'm praying for you. *hugs and more hugs*
I just found out today that Ace of Cakes was at Ragnarok, and that they made the AMAZING viking longship cake. HOW DID I MISS THAT?! Where was I when the television crew was around? Not that I want to be on TV (I don't, really), but the cake was fantastic and I never got to see it or steal a bite of it. *tear* And Ace of Cakes does some really cool work. So..I'm excited for October 2nd, when the episode airs. Too bad I never left camp all week.
I also found out today that people are up in arms about the whole Discovery Channel thing. Is it really that big of a deal? What the hell is with all these people (all of them, though this is drama-inducing and doesn't really matter, are Senegals) throwing a fit? Athron gave the best advice--wear a mask. Or don't go. It's one Badon, there will be lots of others. Futhermore, there will be a lot of people there, what makes you think you will stand out so much? No one will notice you unless you make an ass of yourself. End of story.
And I think it's awesome that they're going to tape us for a show. Sweet action! I happen to love my hobby, and I'm not enough of a hippie to wanna hold it down and keep it like a dirty secret. Jesus.
Also, since this is my personal journal, I want to point out that Omega can be a huge dick, all of the time. I've always gotten along with the kid, but for fuck's sake, dude, learn to use tact and respect other people's opinions. Just because you were too busy smoking pot to listen while EVERYONE was fucking talking about this thing at Ragnarok, doesn't mean you have the right to get on the national boards and call someone else useless because you weren't the first fucking person she thought of when she found out. How egotistical and stupid of you. You aren't worth that much, or anything at all. And I'm very happy someone else managed to point that out to you, and sorry that you had to pick on a girl because you knew she was a collected person and wouldn't beat your slimy face in next time she saw you. Fuck you.

Now that THAT's off my chest, the REST of the drama is also bullshit. And by that I mean there IS no drama. There have been a lot of discussions going on, and frankly, I don't understand why. I used to fight with a chapter that routinely started fist fights, and even then we didn't throw hissy fits like this. We're fine, Eryndor, breathe. Some people will always be assholes. We all know who they are and don't need to point fingers, and the most we can ever do is ask someone to lighten up. If they don't, then avoid them. Don't fight them. When they don't have any friends or spar partners, then maybe they'll get it, but don't hold your breath.
And, for the record, there is absolutely no reason to kick someone out of a practice unless they are making the game hazardous for other people. When the game is no longer safe, get rid of the person. Until then, you have to keep enough of a head to put up with the idiots who are being sarcastic or silly, however irritated they might make you. Sorry, but that's part of the game. You should never have expected to get along with everyone here just because you share the same hobby.
With all of that going on, I'm a little tired. I need to call a school tomorrow to talk about getting this high school thing out of my way, so I can hopefully enroll in summer classes next year and get this show on the road. I want to move to Wisconsin, and go to UW. Oh so very bad.
I've also decided that I want to take up the fiddle, and, if I can manage any kind of skill with it, then I want to try my hand at the Norwegian Fiddle. Mmmmmm...
Still trying unsuccessfully to get a job. Damnit.
I've stopped buying cigarettes. Oh Gods, does it suck. I've been cheating here and there but I'm doing fairly well, I think.
