day 3 → your favorite television program
I can't possibly choose between these, so yeah.
Frasier
Oh, Frasier. I've loved this show for years. I've seen every episode at least 8 times, probably more, and I will keep re-watching them. This show got me through many, many late nights of European History assignments back in high school.
Niles' neurotic mannerisms will probably always be hilarious and Frasier is so pompous and ridiculous you have to love him. I love Martin because he reminds me so much of the traditional things I love (cranberry sauce in the shape of the can, anyone?). Frasier's got such a unique family dynamic and excellent writing - the 10th season was the weakest, in my opinion, and the strongest writers of the show weren't working on that season.
I've watched quite a few relatively pointless sitcoms, and enjoyed some of them, admittedly, but Frasier's so much more than that. And also completely different and feel-good from my next favorite.
Battlestar Galactica
I am only listing BSG below Frasier because I was a fan of Frasier first, and because I love it so much. Battlestar Galactica is easily my second all-time favorite, if not tied with Frasier, since the shows are so different.
I was late to the party with BSG, which is completely my own fault considering I had friends pushing me to watch the show as soon as the mini-series premiered. They were completely right, this show is amazing. Everything from the fantastic ensemble of actors to the music (Bear McCreary pwnage, seriously).
Also, I'm not usually very active in TV fandoms, for whatever reason, but the BSG fandom is still loads of fun regardless of me coming in late. There are some wonderful people and communities in this fandom! Adama/Roslin is probably my biggest OTP in a long time, which is one of the reasons why I'm so involved in fandom. Their dynamic is so much fun on the show.
ALSO, BSG introduced me to Mary McDonnell. Enough said right there. I'm not sure my life would be complete with her or Laura. Or Bear McCreary, or airlocks.
