Keep calm, y'all, Coulson's back!
It's been a really exciting two weeks!
1) Things I have done:
* Caved and finally gotten a tumblr. This is so bad for my free time but whatever, I am having SO MUCH FUN! :)
* Had a brief, 10 hour fling with etsy; no money spent yet but omg so many things I want *_________*
* Purchased four books
* Finished the Fitzosbornes at War. The Montmaray Journals are one of the best things I've ever read. Please see my enthusiastic blathering about them over on tumblr. ♥
2) Zombie Coulson rises: If you were online Saturday afternoon/evening, then you've probably already heard the news because our excited and enthusiastic screaming could probably be heard four galaxies away. :D Marvel announced at NYCC that Clark Gregg will be appearing as Agent Coulson in Marvel's SHIELD TV show!!! ajskdfjaksjdfa COULSON LIVES. <3 CANNOT. WAIT. :DDDD
3) My beloved internet soulmate, aredblush, has set up an online store for her art! Please consider dropping by and taking a look. You may know Nas as the brilliant artist who did the amazing Inception Care Bears, My little Inception ponies, and You have died of dysentery. Only some of her original art is currently available at her store, but she will be making her fandom art available as prints soon; if there's something from her her art masterlist you'd particularly like to see, please drop her a line here and let her know!
4) Other fandom things: Yuletide signups are now open!! cobweb_diamond has a great introductory post on Yuletide, if you're new to fandom and wondering what all the fuss is about. :) And a new comm looperfilm!
5) Recs:
a) I woo'd thee with my sword by isawet (Inception, Arthur/Eames) - There's a job in Antarctica, during which Ariadne slowly ropes Arthur into being her point man and Eames and Arthur make literary references. This was amazing and hilarious! I felt so nostalgic after reading this because it reminded me of Inception fandom's heyday. *happy sigh*
b) With secrets at our fingertips by lc2l (TSN, Eduardo/Mark) - Dear Eduardo, It is mid July 2005 and you have just paid a girl named Alice 30 million dollars to wipe three years from your memory. In your jacket there are details of a bank account containing a further 500 million dollars and tickets to Singapore. Go. Don't look back. Eduardo Saverin THIS FIC. OMG THIS FIC. ;__________; Play is one of the best writers I know and this is simply breaktaking. I love the universe and the characters and I'm in awe at Play's world building.
c) Heave ho, thieves and beggars by antistar_e (TSN/Firefly, Eduardo/Mark) - When you can't run, you crawl. When you can't crawl, you find someone to carry you. This is a TSN/Firefly fusion about Mark hiring the crew of Serenity to help him break Eduardo out of the Academy, written by Elizabeth. What are you waiting for? :D
d) Clint and Darcy - a trailer by brisbanite (Avengers, Clint/Darcy) - Really well done fanvid; everything I would ever want in a Clint/Darcy movie! \o/
e) He hit the heights at breakneck speed by pollyrepeat (Avengers, gen) - In which Natasha gives the thumbs-up to Tony Stark and the Iron Man suit, the Avengers Initiative starts a little differently, and Tony finds himself spending a lot of time with assassins and/or spies. Fantastic AU in which Natasha says yes to both Tony Stark and Iron Man, and Tony, Nat, and Clint start forming a team before the start of the movie. AWESOMENESS.
f) Super Detka by petronia (Avengers, Bucky/Steve) - "Give me worthwhile intel, not hypotheses," said the Winter Soldier. "The floor plan of another HYDRA plant. OK. A SHIELD medical facility. OK. But taking blood from Captain America is not like taking it from a refrigerator." This is lovely and a bit melancholy. I adore the author's Winter Soldier voice.
g) i may have a bit of a bias by kellifer_fic (Avengers, Clint/Darcy) - Having an Iron Man and Captain America plush duo on your desk that you can place into compromising positions is a totally valid way to amuse yourself. THERE IS NOTHING ABOUT THIS FIC I DON'T LOVE. ♥
h) Five times an Avenger accidentally woke Natasha up by margo_kim (Avengers, gen) - At the best of times, Natasha isn't a heavy sleeper. At the Tower, it seems she can barely get through a night. I love well-written gen fics and Natasha-centric fics and this is both.
