Might I ask how much it was?

The UK average now for housing is $362,000 (CAD). The average in my city is $518,000 (CAD.

So pigwotflies and I rent. We pay $1,172 (CAD)/month for 500 square feet.

Houses around here are averaging around $200k on the starting end.
Houses in the 150k-170k range are being sold the day the get on the market usually.

We looked at a bunch of places one week and by the next week they were all sold.

How do salaries compare? Here the median salary is $40,000 (CAD). The mean is $50,000 (CAD).

AFAIK they don't provide the information regionally.

For Halifax, the average family income is $58,262

So I guess about $30,000ish for salary is average for Halifax.
