Bought A House!
Well, since last week, I bought a house.
We are just on the last step of getting the money all sorted out then signing papers.
It took us a considerable amount of effort to obtain it because of some things that happened during the bidding process.
The 1st time we bid on the place the went in at like $6k under the asking price.
Then we found out that someone else was also bidding on it at the same time we were.
So we moved up our price to meet the asking price to see if we could beat the other people to the punch and get the place.
Turns out the other people also wanted the place as much as we did.
They bid above the asking price!
Their price was accepted before we had another chance to do anything.
-- Fast forward a week --
We get a call from our realtor saying the the other people's finances fell though.
And that the house was back on the market.
So literally 1 hour after it went back on, we made another bid.
This time I went in $4k below the asking price and gave them a limit on how long they could think about it because we knew there were a couple people who were planning on looking at the place that evening.
During the evening, the other people who looked at the place weren't ready to make a commitment at that instant, so they got no further bids.
The next day the countered our offer to do $2k under their asking price, which was $2k under what we were willing to pay earlier, and we accepted their counter.
Pretty sweet.
We'll be moving the third weekend into July!
