More good things
Three things, in ascending order of significance, rather than in chronological order:
1. A pair of boots I bought on a selling page on Facebook arrived today. They look better quality than ones for which I have paid at least treble the price new in the past, and could pass for new with little difficulty. They are not-quite-Victorian in style, satisfyingly big and clompy (three inch heel and just under an inch front riser) but also just about work-suitable. This makes me happy. :)
2. I finally, finally defeated the monster backlog of minutes which built up last term, about which I am very pleased. So, the tax return monster needs to be afraid, as I shall be coming for it soon! ;)
3. My interview yesterday showed that the Chair, Head etc of the school in question appeared to have a nice balance of idealism/ambition and pragmatism/realism. They also seemed to have at least half a clue about governance and specified that they wanted someone who could do more than take minutes. So, I was particularly pleased when I got a call maybe four hours after I got home, offering me the job. Hurrah!
