End of the school year

The last two weeks have kept me busy with many activities. Unfortunately I forgot the camera several times.

Emma had an outdoor concert and art show at school to celebrate their time at ERS. She moves on to a new school next year and is very excited. I have a cute picture of her that night on my phone, but couldn't figure out how to transfer it to the computer.

Cameron participated in a concert as well. It was in celebration of flag day, the gym was packed, and they did a fantastic job.
A couple days later I got a call from his school asking if I would be attending the ceremony that day.
I had no idea what the secretary was talking about. Apparently Cameron was receiving an award from the Optimist Club. Each year 1 boy and 1 girl per class are chosen for "upholding the dignity of youth, showing sincere devotion to the welfare of others and for generous and unselfish contributions to society."

This time I remembered to bring my camera!

The dance recital was fantastic as always. This year Emma took a tumbling class and Hayley took a Jazz class.

Parents were invited to see Cameron's 3rd grade class recite their biography reports of famous people from Massachusetts. He helped make this costume using scissors and a staple gun, can you guess who he is?

Famous Patriot and leader of the Boston Tea Party, Samuel Adams.

Hayley passed the classroom elimination round of her school spelling bee and got to participate in the main event in front of proud parents and grandparents. She came in 4th place and was only eliminated after they used up all the regular 5th grade words and had to move on to "bonus words" that the kids had not studied. I took pictures, but they are still on Chad's camera, I will post them as soon as I can.
