I finished my women's studies test early - about 45 minutes early. So I'm waiting for class to resume.
This weekend was incredibly draining for me. I absolutely can't stand working on Sundays. We have wedding receptions pretty much every Saturday here, so every Sunday there are at least 100 check-outs. Every time I work on Sundays and check that many people out, I mess up somewhere. This past Sunday, I accidentally charged someone's card when I should have switched it to cash. So that took a good 45 minutes to figure out. I was late for my (really belated) birthday party with Jonathan's parents.
The belated birthday thing was fun, though. We had a fancy (read: at the dining room table) dinner of some sort of pasta, some sort of casserole, and garlic bread. I had cheesecake birthday cake. It was tasty, minus the water chestnuts (barf). I got presents while I was there, too - a new purse that goes with my work uniform a whole lot better than my Oscar the Grouch one, a ton of socks (I LOVE NEW SOCKS - OH GOD, DO I LOVE NEW SOCKS), and a foot spa thingy from Jana (Jonathan's sister).
I also got perhaps the weirdest gift ever from Grandma Mae - It's a clock with the sculpture thing of a cat head on top, and then it has a swinging TAIL pendulum at the bottom. And I'm not talking the
cool black cat ones, either. I'm talking like, Thomas Kinkade style marmalade cat with rippled fur and other shit. When I opened it, everyone started laughing - Bill was crying, he was laughing so hard. Mae just said, "Did I miss a joke?" and started giggling right along with them. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with that one. Maybe sell it? Break it into a million pieces? I'm ambivalent about the whole situation.
