Year End Fandom Rundown
Your main fandom of the year?
I would have to say Stargate. I started watching SG-1 (and need to get back to that soon as I'm still mired in Season 3) this year, grew more in love with SGA and have now mourned the passing of SGU (because, admit it, it's hard to watch the REST of a show after you know it's been cancelled). It's a fandom with possibility and it makes me happy. Go figure!
Your favourite film watched this year?
All together now... INCEPTION! Saw it three times in the theater and have watched it twice since I got it. The music is as wonderful as the idea of the movie. The whole thing just makes me feel all warm and tingly because out there is someone dreaming of a world that is being shared by someone else.
Your favourite book read this year?
Masques by Patricia Briggs
Any year where I get to read a new Patricia Briggs is a good year, indeed!
Your favourite album or song to listen to this year?
This is a tough one but I'm going with all the albums that Glee has put out! *grins* I love that it's a wide span of genres and styles.
Your favourite TV shows of the year?
Community! I started watching because of Joel McHale but I keep watching because of ABED! Love him so much!
The Big Bang Theory! It never fails to make me laugh.
How I Met Your Mother! I only hope to someday get to know who the mother is.
Leverage! Parker makes me laugh and sigh and laugh again. I love it!
Covert Affairs! It was the one show that kept me coming back to my TV this summer.
Your favourite LJ community of the year?
A toss up between 5_prompts (a writing prompt community I started because I wanted to have a reason for coming up with prompts and, surprisingly, nearly 100 people felt the need to join and participate in) and sgoc (a Stargate community full of really cool people that all enjoy the Stargate fandom).
Your best new TV discovery of the year?
SHERLOCK HOLMES on Masterpiece Theatre. Oh, a lovely show. Lovely, lovely, lovely.
Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
You had to go there? The cancellation of SGU and Caprica. A sad day for scifi fans everywhere.
Your TV boyfriend of the year?
It will always be Ronon Dex. Every year! Those arms and his smile... *falls over*
Your TV girlfriend of the year?
Kate Beckett! Smart, sexy and sarcastic. You can't beat that combination!
Your biggest squee moment of the year?
The fact that I get to see Doctor Who on Christmas Eve for the first time EVER! I'm so excited!
The most missed of your old fandoms?
Sometimes I miss how much I used to drabble in just about every fandom that I watched/read. I miss all those fandoms. Not enough to start doing that again but it was fun while it lasted.
The TV you haven't tried yet, but want to?
I've thought about watching Fringe and I still need to watch MOST of BSG.
Your biggest fan anticipations for the New Year?
All the cool superhero movies coming out there year!
