Episode Reaction 4:19 "Jump the Shark"
I don't have any really deep thoughts about it.
Just:
Oh Sam. You make my heart hurt. I miss my fluffy, floppy haired, tight hoodie wearing brooding emo kid
Oh Dean. That is everything you ever wanted from John, isn't it? You really did worship him, but you've begun to hate him, haven't you? And Sam acting just like him is just salt in the wounds.
Oh John. You really did the best you could, didn't you? And it just wasn't good enough. Teach them to protect themselves and they're trapped in a life that makes them miserable and will likely kill them (but it'll take longer), shelter them and they die quickly, vulnerable to any nightmare that comes along.
Speaking of Sam's broody emo roots, how fitting is it that he now has scars like he tried to slit his wrists? That makes me laugh (but then, I have an inappropriate sense of humor)
And finally, I shrieked. I totally shrieked like a little girl when he grabbed her from under the bed. I have a thing with under the bed, and that scene SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF ME OMGWTFBBQ
I also like the fact that it was ghouls. Just ghouls. Not demons, just plain old ghouls. Something I’ve heard of before that is an awesome monster and doesn’t make me feel the need to google any kind of hierarchy.
But yes, overall I enjoyed it. I'm glad that my faith that the writers wouldn't go there was rewarded. Now just keep it up, PTB.
