Well, it was another successful Wedding Weekend in South Dakota. It was the second on my whirlwind tour of South Dakota weddings...and I think my last. South Dakota was also the hottest place in the country yesterday. 112 degrees is just inappropriate. I think the wife summed it up best..."I bet this is what it is like to live in an oven."
The wedding was great and the booze was cheap. Friday night found us in the Holiday Inn's Roadhouse Bar. $4.00 pitchers, $2.00 well drinks and something else. I never really got past that part. Lots of Jag went into the system this weekend and that's the way, uh-huh, uh-huh I like it. THe best part of Friday was having 5 of us sitting in the Roadhouse Bar getting well, for lack of a better term, annihilated, and have the tab finalize at $61. I've had tabs for myself that have exceeded $61 and I guarantee you that I wasn't nearly as "in the bag" as I was Friday. The highlight of the evening was when I decided that I was finally getting hit by the "Booze McGoozers." Apparently I was "there" at that moment. Getting a minimum of 8 hours of sleep each night was also a plus.
The drive back from Mitchell, SD is brutal. Especially when listening to the Twins getting dominated by something called Jeremy Bonderman and the Detroit Tigers. I was ready to veer into an oncoming semi when, in the bottom of the 8th, Mr. Bonderman had a melt down allowing the Twinks to rally off 6 runs in the inning and eventually win 6-4. It's a lot easier listening to baseball while on a roadtrip when your squadron is doing well.
Thank you Mitchell, South Dakota. Your cheapness is greatly appreciated by me (well, not my liver, but the rest of me)!!!!
