It's been an interesting day (with tiny SPN commentary and spoilers )

  • I woke up 50 minutes early and thought I'd failed to turn on my alarm and overslept my alarm by ten minutes. I didn't realize the discrepancy until I got to work to find it not yet open (as a temp they haven't given me an office key). Luckily I had a book and there was good coffee to be had. It was, ultimately, a nicely mellow start to what has been the fourth rather hectic day this week. (There's nothing quite like working in a student legal services when there has been a riot the weekend previously.)

  • I managed to get through all 40,000 records from the past 30 years of cases and cleaned up one field. With luck we might actually have new software up and kinda running next week. Most of it I don't care about at all, but I'd REALLY like the calendaring system that comes with it. Five months of me and everyone else relying on my handwriting for calendars is starting to wear.

  • This company wants to use one of my Flikr pictures in a guide to MN.  No money, but credit. Hurray for Creative Commons getting things out there to be used!
  • Things became rather unnaturally quiet this afternoon due to a threatened shooting a couple of building away. Which, as far as I can tell, nothing ever materialized.

  • I managed to elude the technical difficulties and snag a DreamWidth Seed Account. I'm still trying to decide on what I want to port over from LJ, but it is clear that once I either have some time to dig into Core 2 or someone comes up with a layout I love (which will almost certainly come first) I will be using it as my primary reading venue (the reading controls and better interoperability are a lot of what I really love about DW) but I have no plans of getting rid of my LJ - there are too many communities I'm interested in posting in that I can't see having reason to migrate. Posting, for the moment, will be on both DW and LJ, not that it happens that much . I've been trying to post a bit more than usual to help give DW some test load, but I presume this burst verbosity will not last long.  I also need to pick my other 198 icons. *g*

  • Tonight's SPN ep cut out, luckily only temporarily, at a prime spot, just as Castiel was about to return to Jimmy as a vessel. Damn those angels are hard on electrical transmissions!

I liked the ep as a whole, but, except for the opening - somehow I've never pictured Dean as a fan of fishing, although I guess it does show how bone weary he is these days - nothing particularly surprised me. The Gossip Girl ads seemed ironically appropriate in conjunction with this ep, too.
