WEIRD!!!
OMG! thats all I have to say about the new version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It was so WEIRD!!! Johnny Depp did, of course, a superb rendition of Willy Wonka. However, how could you expect anything less of him? Especially after Captain Jack Sparrow. This version was definitly creepier than the old 70s one. The Oompa Loompas were just... WEIRD! I have to say, though, I laughed a fair bit. I went with Gina and we had a good time. I would see it again and recommend that others go see it too. But man, it is just WEIRD! (hhhmmm, how many times can I say "weird" in one post? Lets say it again, just for good measure: WEIRD!)
We went to Outback for dinner, a very late dinner! The movie wasn't over until 8:30. Outback's pricey, man... I wasn't expecting that. We both pulled out $20 thinking it would be enough for our meal. Both of us ended up pulling out credit cards by the end. But it was so damn good! I had some sort of white fish topped with a cream sauce mixed with shrimp and mushrooms, steamed veggies, and cream of potato soup to start. Man, that diet went OUT the window! Then, because we were both MAJORLY craving chocolate after the movie, we had this huge hunkin' piece of chocolate cake, which we definitly split! I thought they would have to roll me into the car like they did to violet who swelled up like a blueberry in the film. So definitly eating salads all day tomorrow and working out...
