no wakey, patty need sleepy

so this morning my alarm clock went off at 4:40am.  i couldn't figure out why it was going off because i had no clue as to what day it was.  i had to grab my cellphone to look and see what day it was to determine if i actually had to get up.  turns out it was tuesday, sadly, therefore it was not a mistake that my alarm was going off.  i indeed did have to get up and get ready for work at 6am.  sigh... so i sleepily walked to the bathroom to shower, with the hope that it would cause me to be more awake and alert.  unfortunately, it did not have that effect.  instead i realized i was moving in slow motion.  and yet i still managed to get to work on time.  i was hoping to get a nap in this morning.  but once again my plans were foiled when i noticed a note on the desk informing my partner and i of a 6:15am transfer to bismarck.  sigh... no rest for the wicked i suppose.
so i quickly at my kashi "go lean" cereal.  oh and by the way don't let the name of that cereal fool you,  you wil not "go lean" by any means.  it is a very high fiber cereal.  but i eat it cause i actually like the taste of it.  in case you're curious, i buy the honey, almond, flax one.  not the original kind.  the original kind is ok but that one is a bit lacking in flavor.  if you like twigs then you will love it.  otherwise i recommend the honey, almond one.  it's a bit sweeter.  but i digress.  so i ate my cereal and cori and i were off to the hospital to pick up our patient.  cori went in back with the patient and i drove.  about 20 miles out of town i was thinking, "man i should have offered to go in back, i'm kinda tired."  but then i looked in the rearview and noticed a car that was not exactly tailgating but was keeping pace with us.  mind you i was driving close to 90mph.  and this guy was in the right line about 3 feet off my bumper.  it was quite annoying and i was tempted to call the highway patrol on him.  since he was speeding, but like i said, he wasn't exactly tailgating.  so i didn't call it in.  however, i came to the conclusion that i was actually thankful he was their because i kept looking back at him to see where he was which kept me quite alert and awake.  which was nice.
the drive back to dickinson was actually more eventful.  i'm driving along in the passing lane, about to pass a semi when a 12 passenger van with government plates that's next to me in the driving lane starts to come into my lane.  i swerve and nearly go into the median when he pulls back into his lane and then almost immediately starts to come into my lane again.  i slam on the brakes and the horn.  he then hit's his brakes and then starts to speed up again like he's going to come into my lane again and then slams on his brakes again when he finally realizes he's too close to the back of the semi to try and pass.  as if i wasn't tired enough now i'm crashing from an adrenalin rush.  we get back to dickinson and we are going through an intersection where we have the green light and another vehicle decides to make a right turn on red and almost came into my lane again.  i'm not sure what the deal is today, but i probably shouldn't drive on anymore calls.  we already are one rig down due to engine problems we don't need another one down because of some idiot that crashes into us.
well, now we are back at the shop and i was hoping to get a nap in, but no such luck.  we just got a call from the hospital for another transfer.  did i mention no rest for the wicked?  apparently i'm very wicked today.  sigh...
