I'm curious. How closely do your fic kinks correlate to your real-life kinks? For example, bondage* fic (and hentai, for that matter) of almost any kind just kicks my ass to the curb--as long as the focus is on the sub and not the dom. That kink is there because of my real-life "yes, please do put a collar on me and give me orders, absolutely I will suck your cock as long as you're pulling my hair" kink. (Among other things. You kids don't need details.) In contrast,
scarlet_malfoy loves rimming fic, but says the idea of it in real life doesn't appeal to her.
So! How closely do your fic kinks correspond to your real-life kinks? Do you love the same things in fic that you love doing/having done to you?
IN ADDITION:
Do you have any "kinks" that aren't sexual at all--something that can show up in a fic destription and have you isntantly going "I am reading that fic"? For me it's things like a character being totally unwilling to speak/write at all, or unable. Therefore,
A Thousand Beautiful Things is in my top 3 favorite HP fics, and
this Kink Meme fic called Damage Control (Phoenix Wright fandom, heavy spoilers for PWII) wherein Miles tries to commit suicide and ends up with heavy brain damage that he has to work through with Phoenix--it's not exact, but it kicks my ass anyway. I think I love this sort of thing for the angst involved, but then why this and not any other kind of angst? (Well, I mean, other angst is good too, but this particular thing is just. WANT.) So it's like a kink in that it's something that, if a fic includes it, I'll read it almost no matter what. But it's got nothing to do with sex.
My point is, do you, flist, have any "kinks" like that, where it's more a story element than a sexual thing? What are they?
