I don't think anything changes in a day.
Although, there was this one time.....
I think life can sometimes be really simple, even though we avoid its simplicity.
About ... 2 years ago?, in february, i started for a whole week doing these 2-3 things, and for about 2 weeks after, I was in this high joyful full energy kind of place.
Specifically, in the morning before I woke up, sometimes at noon, and before I went to bed, I would spend a half hour just saying everything i'm grateful for.
I'd talk about anything, how grateful I was for the trees, my house, furniture, anything, and I also smiled pretty much so long until it hurt, and then kept smiling, and I did that usually until my nose tingled, and then i'd start my day.
"I am so happy and grateful for my glasses, and for how they correct my vision, and the decades of research that went into making them. I'm grateful for the optician who measured them, the technician who made it, the machines and the knowledge of all those who had come before that are able to make my glasses a reality.
I am so happy and grateful for my teachers, and the knowledge that they impart on me, the lessons I learn and the things that help me grow as a person...
and so on.
I also heard on a Tony Robbins tape that they put 10-20 clinically depressed people infront of a mirror, and told them to smile at themselves in the mirror for 20 minutes, and that after that time, the people were cured of their depression. I think I will try that today myself, just to see if that helps.
Part of being depressed or being a depressed thinker is getting stuck on something negative, and following that spiral on and on. I remember watching my life stagnate, and fall apart, and get worse and worse, and as I said, i had read something that told me, whatever you focus on, you will attract. By your focus, the things you constantly think about, whether positive or negative, you draw to yourself that energy, events that bring about the same, and those will reflect on your life.
So I changed my outlook, I really concentrated on looking for the bright side of things. It won't come in an instant, and I must admit, I should practice the above a lot more. But my life really changed.
After that week of meditating and smiling I felt myself connected to this high level of energy, and everything seemed to work out just right. I was healed, and then I asked, I wonder what it feels like not to feel like this, and pretty soon after I dropped out of that state. And while i've complained in the past of not getting back there, in truth, I haven't done anything to bring me closer to it. But because of you, I will, not to prove something to you, but because whenever we try to teach something to someone else, we too learn some lessons.
I remember seeing physical changes in myself, the way I walked, handled things, I would usually just use brute force if something was stuck, but when I was in this other energy state, i'd calmly lift things, I wouldn't triple check if my car was locked, I just felt more confident.
