Panda's Send Off

Aug 07, 2013 15:13

Sunday Christa moved Panda to a new boarding place. She asked me to be there just in case for some strange reason Panda had trouble loading. I met her and her friend who had the trailer and Christa led Panda out. When we got to the trailer she handed Panda off to me since they were just parked on the side of the road. I had to thinkn but I believe it has been about eight months since Panda last saw a trailer. This one was a two horse slant and to tell you how eventful it was I can't even remember if the thing had a ramp. She just marched right in.

Christa sent me a couple of picturws of Panda at the new place. She has a nicen big turnout with grass and a shade. They'll be introducing her to the grass gradually because she has been on drylot for six years after all.

Life should be settling down for Christa and she thinks she'll be able to start riding again soon. She has a friend who has been there and done that who is going to lease Panda after a trial week later this month. Christa said she'd keep me posted on how it goes. So long as her friend is confident and competent she should have a ball with Panda. I'm glad to hear that she should be getting more work because that was the goal: get her somewhere where she will be used because she's entirely too nice to just sit around and burn hay.

Heck at our show last year I worked her for four days before the show after having I-don't-remember-how-long off and was 4th or better in all our classes despite my not anticipating walk-canter transitions being asked for.

I look forward to hearing how Panda does in her new home.

horses, panda
