Guten Tag, Olaf
Olaf the Gypsy Vanner gelding has come in for two weeks of driving training. We'll see how far it gets us! He was getting ready to introduce the cart when last we worked and he appears to be about there.
Today I fitted the closed bridle. He will eventually need one that fits better as it was designed for a long, narrow Standardbred and not a broad, chunky Gypsy.
He did well long lining and with whip cues. Tomorrow I will pull out his cart and start making noises with it. We'll see about pulling the tire as well and do more whip work. I need to check out his response to lateral pressure and get the false shafts built for use, which I picked up supplies for today too. I will definitely have pictures when they are finished and in use!
