I don't know quite how that would translate into German.

The trick is finding a word or phrase that will translate the concept well!

Thanks!

It's never too late to develop your drawing skills! (This might be the Art Education degree talking...) Most people give up drawing between 10 and 14 years old as they reach the stage often referred to as "dawning realism." At this point we start to recognize that what we are drawing doesn't look like the objects as we move from being satisfied with symbolic representation (stick figures, little M's for birds, etc.) to wanting to replicate the object directly (shading, making things look 3-dimensional, etc.). This is why a lot of adults "draw like children" because they stop before putting the work into developing the skill.

That all said it's never too late to start! You just have to be willing to put up with drawing a lot of things you aren't satisfied with until your hand's ability catches up with your eye. I have over 30 full sketchbooks I've done since I was 10 (almost 21 years ago now!) and that doesn't include all of the random sketching on loose paper throughout the years! So if you think about it, each of those sketches above was made possible by thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of drawings that preceeded it.

Put the time and work into it and you might be surprised with how your skill develops!

Thanks, if I can keep them focused it should be a good crew of kids.
