I had started with the intention of working on the chuckwagon, but as I mixed the paint a good color for the brown dun showed up so I went for it.

These posts are so interesting, it's really nice to see the build-up of the painting! As a non-painter myself, I had no idea how you would go about creating such a complex work.

I'm glad others find it interesting. There's a number of ways one could approach a project like this, but the basic painting principles are back to front (stuff behind first), dark to light, and general to specific. Of course one doesn't always follow it exactly, but it gives you a good starting point.

Thanks! I'm pretty pleased with them too, especially after worrying over them so much while they were in process.
