Their guide met them after theirbsecond assessment.
"Time for lunch, follow me!" She lead them back down to the dining hall. They were the first group to arrive. The last of the servers were setting their loads on the tables, which were once again full of a variety of food piled upon large platters and overflowing their bowls.
Not eating well the last two days was starting to catch up with Sray. Despite the hunger that started to churn in her gut very little seemed appetizing. She fell in line behind her classmates and picked over what was offered. Another roll, which she actually spread some jam on, a bit of seasoned meat, and a small, soft-fleshed fruit shared her plate, though sharing might be a strong word considering the gaps between each item. The girls clustered together and the boys sat at the far end of the same long table. Sray seriously considered finding a seat as far as possible from any of them. This was going to be a long six weeks if she even made it that far before they threw her out.
"Come on, Sray!" She snapped her head in surprise. It was Kem, of course. "You're not going to eat well standing in the middle of the room." Kem waved her over and Sray stifled a sigh before joining them.
Kirren was talking as Sray took her seat.
