Not to keep ragging on America's Test Kitchen, but one of my complaints that I frequently have whilst watching is just how much random meat, especially pork, is dumped into recipes that, from their names, you would think have nothing to do with that. And this is not their fault that, say, split pea soup apparently has bacon in it (???) but okay,
here's a tofu recipe that out of fucking nowhere suddenly has beef in it.
And, no, yeah, this is not actually ATK's fault and it is entirely Lanna Discovers Non-Kosher Cooking And Apparently Is Not Yet Inured To Its Ways, but wow, am I beginning to understand how Meatless Mondays ever became A Thing if every goddamn dish has meat in it despite its name not giving it away.
Is it too much to ask that recipe names actually be descriptive? I'm never getting over how baked beans also has meat in it???? It's called baked BEANS. If there's meat in it, put it in the name. Or is meat just so assumed that you only have to mention any other ingredients you put into the meat dishes?
