Too Soon for Sakura (A J-Pop Poem in Reverse)
everything that happens in my life
uzomoreta yume
someday i want to carry on,
see if those flower petals
have shadows when they fall
but until then, onna naraba kedo,
i'm tall enough, i'm old enough,
yet in this bed i feel so small.
everything that's happened in my life
it can't be helped... i think
someone else must feel the same,
and when i find him,
we can hide in that place
too close beneath those falling petals
for shadows or for dreams,
zutto ni duwasurou
the japanese here is a little different from colloquial use, just like english in J-pop is a bit awkward. that's the point of my poem. so please don't accidentally take this as correct japanese! approximate translations below:
uzomoreta yume means 'buried dream(s)'
onna naraba kedo means '(even though) it would be better to be a woman/ i wish i were a woman...'
zutto ni duwasurou has the concept of losing a thought for a moment, to forever
