1. Reply to this post, and I will pick six of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.
cold_campbells gave me:
m! do you want a list? - Well, I DO. I kind of collect them. And not on purpose, either. (Or, MY fictional boyfriend can beat up YOUR fictional boyfriend.) (Someday I will actually write up a list and feel like a big loser. Until that day, I have this icon.)
to: cordially - My favorite Jim prank ever. But mostly it's something about the way he says "from the future" in this scene. And I love the way the color changes behind the text in this icon. OH JIM.
himym: legen... wait for it - I love the theme song for this show, and I love the way they tried to make it look like these people actually hang out in bars and take bad pictures together. Any time a show (or movie? but less so with movies) makes a little bit of effort to make it seem as though the characters have real lives, lives where we don't see everything, it makes me happy.
hsm: victory! - I don't care if it's cliche, I love the two of them. I think they're sweet and adorable and I love the little twirl they do just after this moment, as they celebrate their silly high school victories. Also, Troy looks ridiculous in this icon, and that makes me happy.
himym: high five! - What up? Dude, it's Barney Stinson. Like you need an explanation.
pd: just the two of you - I, um, really like it when people lean on things? They usually look casual and confident and sexy, and omg, Lee Pace, do you ever, even though Ned is actually feeling kind of sheepish here. His dog and his woman.
And
moirariordan gave me these (some might look suspiciously familiar):
himym: legen... wait for it - um, I only have so much to say about this one. Look how pretty! (Is the theme song a real song? Or just something they wrote for the show? I am too lazy to imdb it right now.)
vm: shhh! - Kristen Bell is adorable. Consider this my nice way of saying STFU, you know? Besides, I like to tell boys named Duncan to shut up, so we have that in common.
hp! book 7... - I used to have this same icon with the word "someday..." written across it. And then DH happened, and I decided that I wasn't so much trying to make a shipper statement as I was celebrating their cute little faces. (That said, Ron/Hermione is one of the few ships I feel really strongly about. The two of them just strike me as so right, and while I'm not one of the crazed fangirls getting into internet riots or whatever, I do get prickly about them. One of my all time top OTPs.)
s&j! two thumbs way up - I found in some random comm, and chased down the maker and begged very politely until they said I could have it. LOOK AT IT. Jesus! Spidey! Thumbs up! God, I feel cool just looking at it.
2008! chill - This one kills me. I'm willing to bet that if we could hear some of Obama's inner monologue, it would sound a bit like this.
himym: high five - We are feeling the HIMYM love, aren't we ladies? (My keywords for this icon: "What's that left hand? Right hand sucks? Word." which is still one of my favorite Barney quotes.)
See, the things I do so you will feel guilty about skipping over this next section where I talk about baseball. Don't think I missed how neither of you chose any of my 10 Sox icons.
BASEBALL. SHINY NEW TOTALLY-COUNTS BASEBALL WITH REAL PLAYERS. Josh Beckett being completely smoking hot and striking bitches out. Jason Varitek reminding everyone that the real power is in his thighs - long live the thighs! Dustin Pedroia taking a moment to shine his MVP trophy and hit a home run into the Monster seats as a bonus. Kevin Youkilis and Jed Lowrie and Justin Masterson and Jacoby Ellsbury, on my tv, all of them, for real. The promise of another game tomorrow, and the day after, and the day after. The Yankees getting their asses handed to them by the Orioles! (And, because I'm not completely biased: some dude on the Marlins hitting an inside the park home run!
JI JIM THOME hitting a game winning home run off Farnsworth! Other baseball highlights that I enjoyed this morning on MLB Network but can't remember now!) (If you click that link, there's a random reference to Drake and Josh among all the baseball. For serious.)
I had to commandeer the radio at work so I could listen to the first hour, and got harassed about it. Chicks, man.
My friend S texted me after it was all over: "15 texts per game conservatively and at least 172 games left. [ed. note: assuming they sweep the ALDS, ALCS, and the World Series, that is.] i think i have to sign up for unlimited" Good call.
Um, I think I might have accidentally become an iCarly fan this weekend, and I need some fic recs moral support. Sam/Freddie for evah, yes?
