You know what song's lyrics I really like?

"Meet Virginia." It was one of those songs that got overrated and overplayed too quickly and subsequently, underrated. But look up the lyrics, it's just a nice little song. Plus, the singer pronounces "Virginia" in kind of a southern way that makes me giggle.

The girls and I had a good dinner with Paul and Melissa (WAY) at Shirlington last night - Luna Grill (mmm bread and grilled ham/cheese sandwich) and Maggie Moo's. It was after the big, crazy rainstorm and it was damp but cool.

I'm feeling very organized and balanced in my life right now. Plans are good and all systems are go. Work for another two weeks, an exciting weekend coming up, Ben Folds next week, then two weeks completely free before school starts. I've been trying to eat right (heh, last night doesn't count - fitday.com is my new lover, btw) and excercise and get organized for all the stuff I have to deal with. I've been seeing people that I want to see and having a great time enjoying their company. I miss my down time and getting to rent tons of movies and clean my room, but I guess I'll have time enough for that when work ends. And work itself, aside from having to get up early and stay all day, is pretty good. I'm not in a ridiculously happy mood all the time, but I think, in general, right now life is good.

CAFTA got passed. This is not good. I should find my State and Society in Latin America notes from when we talked about it this spring.

Most importantly, happy LiveJournal anniversary to me! Four years and counting.

The following are all still playing at Shirlington, to my pleasant surprise, and I really want to go:

Mad Hot Ballroom - it's about little kids in New York dancing in ballroom competition. I think it sounds adorable.

Ladies in Lavender - British, with Maggie Smith and Judi Dench in the '30s. I would really just see it for the two of them, I think they meet a war veteran and he lives in their hosue house (I have no idea what a "hosue" is) or something.

Crash - the most mainstream, about racism in LA and supposed to be awesome.

Me and You and Everyone We Know - indie, people, relationships.

Is anyone interested in any of those?
