Sighing to herself as the nurse herded her into the music room, Alex resisted the urge to rub her temples. Eventually she knew she was going to have to check Skadi's memories to see just what she had been up to, but she had a feeling doing that right now would just make her headache worse. That would teach her not to be specific when she told

Huh.
Whatever they were playing managed to be melodious, calm, dull and slightly atonal. It sounded like something a Rodian might enjoy.
Chusa began to walk around a bit, picking up a few of the inrtuments and tried to figure out what they might do. Some things were basic... but the shapes were so odd. She recoginzed what might be a simple plastene pipe, one that a littling might practice on and the stringed thing looked vaugely like an Alderaanian lute.

Chusa pulled the pipe away and frowned at it. She'd been able to figure out how it was supposed to work, although the number and placement of holes in the little plastic thing was a bit tricky.
She hadn't been putting much force into her small practice attempts, no need to hurt her own ears with her fumbling, much less anyone elses. But she was fairly sure that she'd never actually played something like this now, at least there was nothing practiced or instinctive about her fumblings with the thing.
Or it could just be a piece of recyced trash that couldn't play a tune even if you'd shoved up somewhere unpleasant. On a Hutt.

She nodded over at a few of the other instruments, "Most music is electronically created, synths and such. Real intruments are more of a luxury item or a cultural affectation."
She set the plastene pipe back down. "As it turns out, I don't know how to play it and other than banging away on one of those drums, I don't think I know how to play on any of these. Must not have a muscial aptitude."
There, she'd learned something about herself.

Once he was satisfied, Ichigo leaned forward, resting the edge of his chin in the palm of his hand. There, he stared at her with a certain vacant sense for a moment, as if trying to put the pieces of his own questions together in his mind before blurting them aloud in some clumsy fashion.
"All I had to say was my name, and you knew me! How's that happen?" he suddenly exclaimed, tossing aside the silence earlier with a loud, startled tone. His eyes narrowed rather soullessly, two beastly orbs beneath brows ablaze. "You even knew I'm shinigami. You're not reading my mind or anything, are you?"

A rather boring place, in Luffy's book.
Still, the people who were nearby seemed to be fairly interesting. Though he was still a little unsettled by what had transpired in the cafeteria, Luffy thought it might be a good idea to try and get more of his questions answered by people who'd been here longer than him. (As much as he liked Brock, he'd been there probably about as long as Luffy himself had, which meant that he hadn't learned too much about this strange place, save for a few, vague details that really didn't mean much to him right now.)
It didn't take long for Luffy to spot a pretty cool looking guy on the couch. His eyes were actually mismatched, which made the pirate wonder if he'd always been that ( ... )

Roy glanced up, having been lost in quite a few thoughts. He had a lot to muse over, after all. But he'd been hoping for a distraction, so this was good. Even if he had been approached by quite an odd-looking kid, it was better than being ignored by people because he seemed too moody.
Then again, he got the feeling that this kid would have stepped up to him even if he'd been glowering and giving off a 'leave-me-alone' vibe.
He sighed and provided a nod. "Not really, no. Then again, not much happens in most rooms during the day." He supposed some rooms were better than this one, though. The Game Room, for instance, not that many patients actually played. Roy really would have liked to play a game of chess with someone at one point--it had been too long. But he didn't know how good his luck would be when it came to finding a partner to play with.

Moving to Luffy's side, Zoro only gave a small nod as greeting, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Do you like being human?"
"You were probably better off as a homunculus."
"Is there anything you really want? Like, something you'd do whatever you could to accomplish? Something really important to you?"
How had the chimera woman managed to hit upon every one of Lust's sore spots in one conversation? She sank down onto a chair with a small sigh, her eyes cast down and her knees drawn up under her chin. It was a position she found herself adopting often lately. She didn't know what was wrong with her. She seemed to be feeling things more strongly today than normal. And she found herself wanting. She chewed at her bottom lip, glancing up and scanning the room. She wanted to see Scar, wanted to speak with him, just wanted his presence. And if not Scar than Haru, because she was feeling oddly needy and desiring company ( ... )

She spotted Lust sitting in a corner of the room, looking downcast and feeling sorry for herself. Confused and worried for her new, and normally confident friend, Haruhi walked over softly. She set a gentle hand on the older woman's shoulder, and though she clearly felt sympathy for the woman, Haruhi's expresssion was definately not one of pity. "Lust? Are you alright?"

"I'm fine," she said, waving her hand. "Simply lost in thought, nothing more. The mind tends to wander when left without stimulation." She offered a small smile, though it didn't touch her cat-pupiled aubergine eyes.

"Well, when I get lost I try to go back the way I came. More often than not I find out where I was lost in the first place, and that's always something good to know." She smiled, an open happy grin.
