My cousin Lily just graduated from law school. I'm so impressed, but not envious - the stack of books she has to study from to prepare for the Bar Exam look completely overwhelming.

Anyway, my mom and I flew out to Minneapolis this past Friday to see the graduation. It was the first time I had flown since the new TSA measures were implemented, and really I don't think it was too bad. I maybe got a mini-pat down (my sides over my jacket) in Baltimore when they thought I had something in my pocket. On the way out we just walked through the scanner rather than standing. We had connecting flights in St. Louis on the way and Chicago on the way back, but yeah, the airport and flights were pretty smooth and uneventful.

My mom and my aunt totally splurged on our hotel (and technically snuck me into the room), which was pretty amazing. We used the whirlpool, sauna, and steam room and got spa treatments. Yeah, another first for me, getting anything done at a spa beyond mani-, pedi-, hair, etc. I had an avocado treatment done, which was on the whole great, altough I confirmed that I never ever want anyone to touch my stomach. Ever. And I "wasted delicious avocados" on my skin, in the words of Lily. But yeah, I now have another love for avocado.

As for myself, I am now 7/10 on my way to completing my Masters Degree. Branding and Advertising, my last class, I feel I learned a lot from, but waaay to much group work. I guess group work is a good thing, because it does mirror work in the "real world," but it just seems to make everything take much longer than it could if you were working alone. I liked my group members, but...I'll probably never be someone who loves group work. I can work well with others when we have our own defined role, like in most jobs, but flat-out group work? Blech. Our project turned out well overall, so, yeah, it was ok.

And I'm wondering why Hopkins summer registration was soooo early this year. Due to the change in the amount of weeks per semester? I don't know, but it doesn't make me happy.
