I have a confession or two to make.
Confession Number One: I have been watching The Secret Circle and liking it. Is there really only the one season? It's just that I find stories about witches and witchcraft really fascinating. When I was a kid, I read a book about a girl who turned herself into a witch by following instructions she found in a library book, I think? At the time I thought it would be the coolest thing ever to try to become a witch, but I never actually tried it. I seem to remember something about the character dumping cereal in her hair. Or not. Memory is a fuzzy thing. It was around that time that The Craft came out too. Yes, covens, the Salem trials - I was secretly really into all of that stuff, and how hot was Neve Campbell in that movie? Super hot. So, I like The Secret Circle, even though it is a silly CW teen drama that got cancelled after one season. Wanna fight about it? And, oh, that thing in the corner over there with all the candles and poetry? Just my shrine to Thomas Dekker's eyelashes. Totally normal!
Confession Number Two: After finally watching Julie Taymor's The Tempest, which I would have liked if not for the incredibly cheesy and unnecessary special effects and weird camera work, I am quite bonkers in love with Russell Brand. His Trinculo is hilarious and made the movie for me. Am I too easily won over? Don't answer that.
