Leafs rally around Kaberle
Maple Leafs stun Devils

I like the first article better, but the second one has this:

Unlike the events of the recent brawl between Ottawa and Buffalo, the Maple Leafs did not seek immediate retribution for the Kaberle hit. The team's most active fighter, Wade Belak, was not in the lineup.

However, injured forward Darcy Tucker came out of the dressing room and into the hallway between the team benches to yell at Janssen.

Bwah! Love. Come back soon, Darcy!

I don't know why the commentators (not Joe & Harry; the guys who talk in between the periods on Rogers Sportsnet) were bitching about the Leafs not retaliating though, you know. They were down 2-0. I'm sure what they needed were more stupid penalties. The win was better revenge than anything else, in my opinion.

And Paul Maurice's quote brought tears to my eyes, because I am a sap.

"They really upped their game and pulled for Tomas. They didn't want to lose that game and that's what we talked about on the bench after the hit," said coach Paul Maurice. "We could not lose this game and lose Tomas at the same time."

*wibbles*

Also, I didn't see all of the Leafs vs. Montreal game on Monday, but apparently there was an incident involving Mats Sundin and one of the Montreal players. Garth Murray hit Mats with a high-stick but there was no call made, and Mats, understandably not overly thrilled, spat on the ice in frustration or some such thing. Anyway, they played the wonderfully snarky quote Maurice gave to reporters on Monday last night before the game: "Well, it's just Mats Sundin. He needs to lose at least part of his body to get a call there, I would think."

In conclusion: ♥.

(Still don't know if I'll be able to bring myself to watch the guys play Buffalo tonight though. It was bad enough that last night I had my head under a blanket and my ears plugged during the shootout. Seriously. I did manage to catch Raycroft's cute little celebration in net and all the hockey hugs at least. :D)
