captain ahab meets his match

No Boston Legal tonight? Boo to that. Boo to that remake of The Ten Commandments too. Charlton Heston is and always will be Moses to me.

Wilson: Haven't you ever read Moby Dick?
House: Is that a book?
Wilson: Obsessions are dangerous.
House: Only when you're on a wooden ship and your obsession is a whale.

First order of business: declaring my undying love for Wilson. He wears toenail polish. And suspenders. And gets adorably excited over winning at card games. It's love, I tell you.

Next! I was somewhat disturbed by the fact that Cuddy and the Ducklings treating the whole "bloody diarrhea" thing a little bit like it wasn't a huge deal. I'm no doctor, and I hate to be crude, but I gotta say that it seems to me that bleeding out one's anus is a pretty big fucking deal. Just saying.

Everybody was all dressed up and bee-yoo-tee-ful. I was having issues with Cameron and Cuddy wearing their hair down when they were doing their doctorly duties though. Somebody over at TWoP had a similar gripe about Dr. Sara on PB and I kept thinking about that tonight and it was bugging me SO much.

Ian was a cutie-pie. "I have a question and I have to use the washroom." Those big blue eyes. "Mommy, are you crying?" Oh, *sobs* Of course they couldn't have him die. I sure as heck felt for the little guy though. The respiratory distress scenes always get to me too, you know. What more horrible sensation could there be than that which accompanies the sudden realization that you cannot, no matter how hard you try, breathe? What a terrifying ordeal for anyone to have to go through, let alone a six year old.

Hugh was pretty darn fab tonight. The little smile and then slamming his cane on the floor when they got the test result for which he'd been hoping. And of course I loved the balcony House/Wilson scene. "I nailed his ass!" *giggles* Oh, Jimmy.

Also loved the exchange between House and Cuddy near the end, in that scene that began with House sitting at the kid's bedside. Cuddy had been angry/frustrated with House, but she knew he wouldn't give up trying to solve the case, and she knew (or seemed to, at that point) there wasn't anything she could do for the kid. There was that shift in her mood. 'Twas well-done, I thought, that scene.

House playing the piano is always lovely. And finally, the barnacle-penis joke at the end made me chuckle, even though I was very kind of WTF? about it. Je ne sais pas. I chuckled at its randomness, and hey, why question House and Wilson laughing over a penis joke?

Quite enjoyed the ep. That is all.

telly, house
