and thus Archimedes proved the crown was a fake in the bathtub

1. Three cheers for corderoy, the lovely individual who posted some charming pictures over at beatlepics tonight. I saw this one, immediately fell in love, saved it and set it as my desktop background. I generally prefer candid photographs to formal portrait-type deals. They're so much more real, and intimate.

2. This song. The lyrics, yo. Relevant to our time? Hell yes. Also, Bob Dylan's Chronicles, Volume One. It was really open and casual; Dylan writes just like he's having a friendly conversation with his readers. Makes quite the engaging story-teller, he does. It was a good read. Funny in bits too.

3. TWoP's recap of the most recent episode of The Apprentice. Had me rolling. Oh, and Scott is procuring S3 for me as I type this. Can't wait to re-live all the suit-and-tie boardroom yuppie madness.

4. The days are getting longer. More sunlight is a beautiful thing.

5. Vanilla-flavoured Frosted Mini Wheats. I've said it before, but I'm pretty damn sure they're putting drugs in that stuff. Some kind of addictive chemical something-or-other.

6. Christopher Ricks has gone and got me interested in Swinburne, after including bits and pieces of "Dolores (Notre-Dame des Sept Douleurs)" in his discussion of "Sad-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands" in Dylan's Visions of Sin. When I'm feeling less tired I'll have to go and seek out some more.

7. Bed. To which I shall retire presently.

ETA: *chuckles* I love how all my random happy-making listing posts always end up having such a ridiculous amount of tags.
