For me, I think the most memorable moment of the inauguration was when Obama was taking the oath, and the Chief Justice said "Barack Hussein Obama" and there was no insinuation in it. For once it was not being used as an insult or accusation. It was just a name. His name.

If you are a New Yorker who is not registered to vote, tomorrow (October 10) is the last day you can register and be able to vote in the upcoming election (November 4). New York State law requires that registrations be mailed in (postmarked) at least 25 days before an election; other states have different requirements so check your local listings.

Watching Dubya's remarks this morning (on CNN) regarding the House's failure to approve telecom immunity I half expected him to smack them in the face with a rolled-up newspaper and then rub their nose in pee.
