I never knew shopping at IKEA could be that enjoyable. I dropped by IKEA alexandra in the morning and i did enjoy the peaceful shopping. Not much crowd. No kids running n screaming about. could enjoy the whole experience by myself. sometimes, it is nice to do some shopping alone. Went through the mock up. had lots of idea for my room. My room is desperately in need of a makeover. Took my time to walk about, looking at each and every furniture. opening up drawers and cupboards to take a look at the size inside. I even look through the kitchen section (such auntie i am). there are lots of funny funny things that i have never seen before. I like to pick up the things and play around with it. That is me. Itchy hands. My mum says since young, i am always touching everything i can lay my hands on. I like the way IKEA works. When i went there for the first time, i was truly wowed and amazed by their retail service, as in their innovation. Their retail concept is one where you can't find anywhere else.
went home. took out the brochure, catalog, start to do some interior design work. Measurements, calculations. Thinking of colours. Then mum said, she wanna go take a look also. so we went down to IKEA tampines. Crazy right? 2 IKEA in one day.
IKEA tampines looks big and grand. way different from the alexandra. Surpurised that it was quite crowded since it is a weekday. can't imagine if it is the weekend. The cafe is really damm big. looks like a food court. Experience wise, not that good. Loads of kids running around despite having an area where they watch your kids for you. I could see them running wild in the kids section. One on the chair, one on the bed, one trying out a slide. one playing with the toys. a total kids haven in itself. Didn't really see much. went to look for the items that i am intending to purchase.
Hmm. need to do some serious calculations. budget. must keep costs down. maybe 1500? considering a new wardrobe, book shelf, desk, more shelves and i dunno what. or maybe i shld be more hardworking and go out and search for similar items at a lower price? or maybe i should custom make everything? argh. it's hard to strike a balance between looking nice and money. I want my room to look gd ( i gonna stay in it for at least the next 10 yrs), but i don't want to spend a bomb. haiz. so difficult.
I have been quite interested in interior design and now i am designing my own room! haha. should look around more for more ideas and things. if i have the moeny, i think the living room, my parents room, the kitchen needs a overhaul. nvm. one step at a time. And how should i paint my room? thinking of having part of the room to have a contrasting colour. better than the dull white, sky blue or apple green. ideas ideas ideas. shall show my masterpiece when it is done.
