thank you to everyone who left me kind and comforting comments. i honestly don't have it in me to reply to each of them individually, but it really meant a lot.

gramps passed away peacefully yesterday at ten after five, dignity intact. they way he wanted to go.

i already miss him, but i'm doing okay. our fragmented family is grouping together and supporting each other in ways i never thought i'd live to see. it's kind of amazing.
