Getting dressed was a real challenge for me this morning. I started out with one outfit, but then smudged deodorant on the collar of my blouse, and there was no saving it. So I changed into another blouse I hadn't worn since before I'd first washed it. Somewhere during its laundering it had assumed a different shape, so it looked kind of lopsided with my skirt. So I tried on a light sweater, which was fine, but I had just worn it at the end of last week, so that went back in the drawer.
Finally I settled on a blouse I've had for ages. I noticed that it doesn't cover the part of my skirt in a way that hides the full part of my legs as the others had, but the time I had for wardrobe fiddling had run out. I left on the jewelry I'd picked out for the original outfit even though it isn't quite a match, and I grabbed a hair tie which is all wrong since it's striped and my blouse is polka dotted. Then on my walk to work, a panhandler opened his eyes wide at me and said, "Beautiful outfit!" Then just before I got to the office door, another stranger on the sidewalk said, "Good morning, beautiful!"
Go figure.
