sila, you're an absolute doll, you really are. *SMISH* if there's anything i can do by way of a thank you, just let me know.

also, regarding the yahoo group thing. i've been watching it closely and man, they really just need to quit it. starting up that kind of wank again isn't going to be good for anyone. especially since the other side seem to be really hostile and bitchy when you're being very calm and polite. idiots.

Oh, don't worry about it, it's fine. It's not like I did much, I just copy-pasted something you wrote up. : P

I wanted to stay out of it, at first, aside from just giving my take on reviewing, but the negative approach had spread to the newbie and I just didn't want her to get the idea that everyone there was as negative. It's just bullshit, all of it.

Being angry by not reviewing writers who aren't reviewing because no one else is reviewing them...-does that still make sense? - is just a vicious circle that will never get broken if they keep that up.

i get what you mean. and i agree. though i have to be honest, after the last little kerfuffle, the whole thing kind of makes me roll my eyes. the argument on that list for reviewing is, well, laughable. no one owes anyone anything, and the sooner they realise that, the better. and like i said, you handled things very well. you were a lot more polite than i would have been - hell, the only reason i didn't stick my oar in this time was because i'd just be copying and pasting what i said before.

feedback isn't mandatory. i wish fandom would understand that.

I'm just waiting for someone to step up and challenge us, though. Granted, Abby isn't there any more, or at least not in the position to do anything, but then I've always suspected Abby of being a sockpuppet, really, so someone could still show up.

Indeed, not on either side. Though I do think writers not bothering to take a second to say 'thanks' is kind of lame. But in the end they're not required to, so expecting that is ridiculous.

i think this new girl is a sock too. her and one or two others. and if that's the case, i really don't know where the puppeteer gets all that time from. it must be exhausting to keep track of all those socks.

i agree that a cursory thanks would be nice, but like you said, it's not required. there seems to be to many shoulds in fandom. you should give feedback, you should read a story regardless of the pairing, you should take things seriously. the only should any one needs to pay attention to is the one where it says you should enjoy yourself. if fandom isn't fun, what's the point in being here?

Yeah, I was worrying about that too. Especially with her asking if I was a moderator or not, which was rather random and sounded a bit like her way of saying 'shut up'. But, still, if she is genuine then I've shared my thoughts with them.

Hah, I've been annoyed myself by authors not bothering to acknowledge you review, but in the end I know they're not forced to reply. It's their choice to, as it is my choice if I want to review or not. You can only hope to get a reply, regardless if people think something should be done. And you're exactly right, it's about fun. Not who sucks up to who and who doesn't. : P

it's getting to the point now that we can spot them fairly quickly. it's all very funny to us.

i think a thank you for the person who took the time to give you feedback is polite, but yeah, it isn't required. i wish more of fandom realised that you're supposed to be here to enjoy yourself. and if fandom makes you hate things, then something is wrong.

If I were ever to create a sockpuppet - the thought is both hilarious and troubling - then I'd make them a tad more intelligent, though. : P

Fandom is SRS BSSNSS - or something - unfortunately. XD I've been known to get annoyed with it, too. I wish I wouldn't, but...yeah.
