It didn't help that I was already in a bad mood...
People in the Metro system tend to like to invade my personal space. I don't know if I smell nice or what. But it seems to me that when I'm standing along a platform that's at least 100 feet long (or more--I was always bad with estimating distance), there's absolutely no reason for someone to come and stand within 1 foot of me to wait for the train. Then there are the people who sit next to me on the train and stay there even if other seats open up that would allow us each to sit by ourselves--apparently it's nicer to sit next to me and elbow me while searching for crap in your purse than to have two whole seats to yourself.
The other gripe is that we're doing a petition drive at work to get defibrillators in the building. The woman who was supposed to be in charge of the thing decided to take off on a 2-week vacation and leave her responsibilities to me. Well, now she's back and she's e-mailing everyone saying that we should have meetings and do this and that to check on our progress with the petitions. The only problem with that is that we HAVE been doing that the whole time she was gone, so she's the only one who doesn't know what's going on. Rather than asking first what the status is, she just acts like we've been on standstill because we couldn't possibly operate without her glorified presence. I can see now why people burn out of union leadership positions.
