hey y'all
not much goin' on around here. Just chillin'.
I was in a table topics contest (toastmasters) this weekend and I didn't even place. Granted I've never gotten to this level (division), but I thought I was at least good enough for third. I console myself by thinking that perhaps I got DQ'd for going over, but I swear only the yellow light was on when I wrapped up, but maybe not.
The Lad™ had a little of his own drama the past week or so. Seems a friend of his convinced him to ask a girl to prom. A fellow euphonium player and a girl that's had a crush on him since freshman year (they're both juniors). She's a sweet girl and they get along well as friends. Spring break rolls around and he goes on a band trip and his friends now convince him to 'go out' with this girl. That apparently means they're dating. A week passes by and he's all set to buy his prom ticket. He texts me about getting fitted for a tux. I reply a few hours later and he says that he's not going, he'll tell me about it later. So I ask him what happened and he said he backed out. Seems he isn't sexually attracted to her and didn't think he should go through with it. But, they're good friends, why back out on her? I tell him he's a jerk for backing out. He feels bad. I'm kinda baffled and lectured him about letting his friends convince him to do things he's not comfortable with. He says he couldn't go through with prom after telling her he wasn't 'into her in that way'. gah! silly boy.
Three of my cats are out of date on shots (not rabies luckily since there's a rabies outbreak in our area). I really don't want to juggle three cats to the vet. Two of which are reformed ferals. I don't even have two carriers. The one feral is the newest addition and she still doesn't like to be picked up. She'll be a real treat to take to the vet.
My bathroom is finally finished, it looks great.
And how about those badass navy seals that rescued that ship's captain being held by pirates? T's company has something to do with the drones that they flew reconnaisance to keep tabs on the lifeboat among other things having to do with the military.
