Since I have some time on my hands, I've decided to take on some home improvement projects.
So, it's the master bath on deck. Right now it has beadboard wainscotting on the bottom half of the walls. Painted a dingy white, made even more dingy after a few years of use (just dingy from dust and stuff). It's also been painted several times and I'm afraid I will need to strip it down or at least sand the shit out of it. Any suggestions? The grooves have already lost quite a bit of detail.
The top half of the walls are wall-papered, which I have started scoring and will hopefully remove tomorrow. I don't think it'll be too bad a job, just a lot of elbow grease.
Now for color. While this is a master bath, it's a pretty small and narrow space. The shower is a former walk-in closet from the adjoining room. The cabinets and vanity are a bright white. Fixtures are white ceramic and steel. The house was built in 1955 and these are done in a period style. I'm kind of hoping for a beachy/british colonial look. The master bedroom has a large closet with white louvered doors. i'll probably trim the door frame a matching white.
I'd like to add some color as well. I have a wallpaper border that matches the decorative accessories (soap dispenser, toothbrush holder, etc) and bath matt. I'd like to do two tone walls, should I keep the wainscotting a bright white to match the cabinets. The other color I was considering is a nice blue (picking up from the border & accessories)
