Summer trip #2: London, Guernsey, St. Malo
On Wednesday I will fly to London (arriving Thursday) for a 13-day trip comprising a day in London, 2 days in Guernsey (Channel Islands), and nine days in St. Malo, France (Brittany).
Schedule:
Fly SEA->ORD->LHR, arriving morning of 6/18. Meet with stepfather in ORD.
Bus from LHR to Poole, UK.
Take afternoon ferry to Guernsey.
Stay in Guernsey 6/18 evening-6/20 afternoon. Renting a car; not sure what we'll see (though apparently I have to plan it!).
Take afternoon ferry from Guernsey to St. Malo, France.
Stay in St. Malo 6/20-6/27 during stepfather's conference. Side trips planned include a trip to Mont St-Micel (conference-organized), day trip to Rennes via Dol (seeing the menhir there!), and (if I can swing it, very unlikely) a trip to Carnac (the world's largest neolithic stone layout site).
Take morning ferry on 6/27 to Poole.
Take bus from Poole to LHR, Tube to hostel.
Spend 6/27 evening-6/29 morning in London (the usual sites, since I've never been to the UK).
Fly LHR->JFK->SEA on my own.
