Hey guys I just realized something, I love America. Maybe this is just Clancy and Heinlein manifesting their fascist(maybe, what do you think matt?) beliefs in the form of an impressionable, young, gooey-headed teen, but I have recently realized how great this country is. Not just now either, this country's history is more beautiful than a beautiful, beautiful bird flying into a beautiful, beautiful sunset. Almost everything about our government, way of life, and foreign policy makes me want to vomit with joy!
So in the beginning, we were just a bunch of Englishmen trying to survive in an "uninhabited" new world. Then we realized it was inhabited, and quickly corrected that via genocide. Sweet! We totally fooled those silly Native Americans and stole their land. You snooze you lose, eh? Then when Britain started getting pissed at our insubordination, we bitched at them until they got tired and gave up.
From now to then, there was just a bunch of dishonest and unethical campaigns towards the benefit of our country; more specifically, the people in control of our country. Even little things, like the creation of the Panama canal and the annexation of Hawaii were excercises in corruption and greed. Hence, most of the people with power in this country are/were greedy and corrupt. Or were the acts done because of their greed and corruption...?
Disregarding this chicken and egg scenario, the only possible conclusion one can come to is this: our founding fathers started a beautiful, beatiful cycle which has led us to be the richest and most powerful country in the free world. Yes, it was all done with self-interest in mind, but you have to respect the efficiency with which it was done. Also, there's nothing wrong with self-interest asshole.
